Gingerbread Tree House

We had a fun afternoon at work yesterday. The entire department was tasked to build gingerbread houses. My team won the Most Creative Award out of three given. It took major teamwork to put it together. I had so much fun and certainly was nice everyone jumped in and did what he/she does best.

Small World All Juiced Up

The new and improved Small World. We were lucky enough to get on the ride on it's first re-opening night. It was as magical as I remembered. The wait was about 45 minutes. While in line, we enjoyed the fireworks and the snow effects launched in the area. Life is good.

Magical Disneyland

I love Disneyland. We went to the re-opening of the Small World and look what happened to the Cinderella Castle? It's winterized! It's so beautiful. We stood in front of it for at least 15 minutes to absorb in this beautiful sight with Peanut by our side. I love the cold weather, everything is more beautiful, cold! Life is good.

Go, my boy, go!! Think Peanut is ready to eat? I've gathered plastic floor covers, two spoons and three bowls. Next important thing, the plastic bib. hmm... may be rain coats for us.

I Voted Today

Today is a big day for me. I returned to work after having Peanut and voted for the very first time. We took Peanut to the polling place with his new mobile to keep him calm. He had fun observing the voters. After voting, we went to Chick Fil-a and discovered we can get a free chicken sandwich with a "I Voted" sticker. How awesome is that?

Magical Land

Disneyland at night is just as beautiful as I remembered. Peanut had so much fun there. We were able to stay in the park for 12 hours. One great thing I learned from this trip was that they offer a Mother and Baby Center where you can nurse in private, change and feed the babies. I love Disney. It's where dreams come true.

Went to the newly opened Korean supermarket to get some Kalbee b/c I've been craving meat. With joy, I pushed Peanut to the meat isle, but before I got there, I ran to a batch of eyes looking at me. Yuck!

Glorious Day

I love looking at the clouds and imagine what I see. Yesterday we actually had a poof of cloud in the sky. It looks like a Phoenix to me. I bet it's awesome shape is contributed by the nasty Santana wind. Speaking of the wind, I just learned from my Pediatrician the name is Santana wind not Santa Ana. It's a devil wind not a saint wind. I've been blind for so many years. It's nice to have it cleared up today!

Funky Secret Asian Exerciser

We went to the new H Market last night to get some goodies. Ken has learned to find interesting items in the Asian stores. Through may piles of mysterious stuff he located this Magnetic Health Hoop. Standing 10 feet away, I saw him examining the box for a long time. I was curious what he found interesting.I walked up and Ken showed me the writing on the side of the box:We love #3 the best. If you can't see, it says:

#3 Do not use the hoop if you are a pregnant woman or an old feeble person or if your joints, back or waist is not in good condition.

Stock Market Takes A Huge Dump

What the h*ll is Congress thinking not passing this bill? This will sink America to a new low. It's not about the rich vs. the poor. If our economy takes a nose dive in the gutter, businesses will collapse and "people" will not have "a job" period!! And guess what, when people are pissed senators don't get their votes.

I Have A Feeling...

It's been 10+ years since our cats have been with us. I started noticing the white hairs on Molly's face, she moves slower and she's been loosing weight. Emily, although shows no sign of aging, but she keeps on gaining weight. I fear none of the signs are right for a healthy cat. Noah has bowel issues and now he is living his vet... After loosing Tiffany to CFR in 1997, I know I lost something really pure from my heart. I am sad.

Midnight Paranoia

Why are there more cancer cases popping up all over the world? What's causing the cells to self-destruct? Could it be because there are more wireless junk waves violating our system and altering the genetic programming of our cells? Why not? Microwave cooks our food by exciting the water molecules and create heat to cook the items by changing their chemical structure. Different waves can cause physical changes -- damages. How do we protect ourselves from these harmful waves? Why should they be able to intrude our space without permission? Is it because we can't see them and we pretend they don't exist?

I have a bone to pick with wireless technology. Watch out Ken, your wireless toys will be disconnected.

Emily Getting Some Love

After months of listening to baby screams, sleepless nights and the cold shoulders from the bigger human slaves, Emily is getting some love from the short one.

Would you eat these colorful treats? There is a huge shop within the ex-Marshall Fields dedicated selling these neon goodies to your dogs. Spoiled dogs... I don't see any treats made for cats. What's wrong with this world?

Lonely Nail

This lonely nail protruding from the State Street Bridge by the Chicago River had quite a bit of attention paid to it. Before I took ten pictures of it, I spotted a photographer using a super huge lens taking massive amounts of photo of it. I have no idea why it is so interesting to him, but I thought I should get some shots of it in case this turn into something significant.

Knighted Today

This morning when I changed Peanut's diaper, he squirted poop all over my hand. I am officially knighted -- mom.

Da Pork Chop

Mike Ditka's Restaurant has the most awesome pork chop. Five years ago with much reservation I ordered the pork chop fearing that it may taste gamy and porky. I was stunned by how delicious it was. This time I ordered it again. It's cooked to perfection like I remembered, no blood but tender inside. The outside has a thin crispy crust probably seared by high heat. The thin layer of fat on the outside gave it a great flavor. It's seasoned simply with just salt and pepper. The cherry sauce and mashed sweet potatoes are nice side kicks. I will forever link this meal to Chicago.

Strange Phenomenon

Have you heard of The American Girl Place? It's like a cult!! I've finally got the opportunity to check it out. The doll culture is amazing. I was mesmerized by it. The place is packed with girls of all ages, zero to 80+. These dolls are not cheap to get and people are buying them by the truckload. Move over Barbie these chubby dolls have more outfits and things you can dream to have. Welcome to the material world. Evidently you can get matching outfit for yourself and get a doll for the doll with matching outfit. If you have more money to blow, for another $250, you can get a tree house for your chubby playmate.

Better yet, after a rough play you can send your playmate to the salon for a hair make over. For $15 - $25 you can choose a new hair style for your chubby friend.

As if the salon service is not enough, you can always take your doll for an afternoon tea for $18. Reservation and proper dressing is require of course...

For the narcissus out there, you can create your own doll.

Dolls freak me out. Chucky ruined it for me.

The "L" was down over the weekend. This pile of rotted wood posts were there for only a few hours and poof they were gone. It's nerve wrecking to see how bad they were. hm...

I Miss The City Life

This is the view from our hotel room when we visited Chicago. It's beautiful during the day and even more awesome at night. Bryce and I sat by the window soaking in all the excitement we don't get within our bubble. Life back home seems boring now...

Organized Chaos + Meltdowns

Is it possible to have organization after introducing a baby to the house and your life? Yes, I'd like to think so. On the surface level my place looks like a bomb went off. But, if you navigate through the wreckage you'll find logical organization to all debris. Same with my mind, I am forgetful but all the must-do action items are done systematically. My brain races like Usain Bolt to sort out what I can accomplish between multiple meltdowns. Here is a meltdown now... gotta go.

Not All With It

Bellagio, George Clooney, Ocean's Eleven... three things I am not sick of looking at. They have the quality of a classic black and white photo that's timeless. I can sit in front of the Bellagio fountain and stay there forever. The fountain is spellbinding. Each song and water dance combo takes me to a different hypnotic state. Ok, the other two don't have the same draw. Bite me.

Need sleep, I've been up trying to comfort the baby for almost three hours. I am delirious. I think there is a rabbit sitting on the lawn licking itself clean and I smell skunk fart.

Irene Surprise

Irene surprised me with her visit to the USA. It's been almost over 6 or 7 years since we saw each other. Her work sent her to Vegas for product convention. It was so amazing to see her. I truly didn't know when we can meet again since we met 6 years ago. I was so happy to be able to meet up with my childhood school buddy. It's been an amazing ride since then. It must be the water here, I am taller than her now. hee hee
